1 Killed in Collision Near 118 Freeway
Mission Hills, CA (April 26, 2023) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway early Tuesday, the KTLA5 News reported.
Officials said a white Ford Ranger veered off the roadway for an unknown reason and rolled down an embankment. Our sources indicated the vehicle came to a rest against a chain link fence at the bottom of the hill. During the crash, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and landed on the traffic lanes.
According to the article published online, one or more passing vehicles struck the body lying on the freeway. The catastrophic incident took place near the transition road from the northbound I-5 to eastbound Interstate 118 Freeway.
Deadly Crash on 5 Freeway in Mission Hills
Emergency crews responded to the location shortly after 12:10 a.m. When medical personnel arrived, they immediately rendered aid to the injured person, Sadly, the driver of the white Ford Ranger eventually succumbed to their trauma and passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
It remained unclear at this time whether the motorists that hit the victim stopped to offer assistance or if they fled the scene.
At this time, detectives continue to gather information to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly accident that happened on 5 Freeway in Mission Hills.
