Driver Killed in Collision on Highway 101 Near Monterey Road Wednesday
San Miguel, CA (September 23, 2021) – One person died, and two others suffered injuries following a car crash that occurred on Highway 101 Wednesday afternoon.
According to Paso Robles Daily News, a 2003 Nissan Frontier was heading north on the highway around 12:38 p.m. Preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle experienced a tire failure in the area near Monterey Road. Officials said the driver then applied brakes and steered to the left. The sudden movement caused the Nissan to roll over multiple times.
Responding emergency teams found the driver of the Nissan unconscious. Despite life-saving measures, the driver succumbed to his injuries and died. Police continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Maricela Vasquez and Raul Gonzalez Injured in San Miguel Car Crash, September 22
Authorities added two passengers–37-year-old Maricela Vasquez, and 22-year-old Raul Gonzalez, sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. The article published online mentioned Vasquez sustained a broken arm and shoulder. Meanwhile, Gonzalez suffered minor complaint of pain.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate several factors surrounding the deadly car accident in San Miguel.
