Marilyn Harlan, 83, Killed in Nevada County Crash on Highway 49
NEVADA COUNTY, CA (January 21, 2023) – Marilyn Harlan was killed after a crash at Highway 49 and La Barr Meadows Road in Nevada County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 83-year-old Grass Valley woman as the fatally injured driver in the wreck on Tuesday.
The incident happened when Marilyn Harlan was driving a 1998 Honda Civic on southbound Highway 49 in the left turn lane in Nevada County. At the same time, a 2014 Acura MDX was traveling northbound in the fast lane.

For an unknown reason, the two cars then collided at the intersection with La Barr Meadows Road. The elderly woman ended up pinned inside her vehicle as a result of the accident.
The Union and FOX 40 News wrote that the collision took place on January 17 shortly after 5:45 p.m. Marilyn Harlan died at the scene of the crash.
CHP said the driver of the Acura survived the incident with minor injuries. Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
