1 Seriously Injured in Mariposa County Crash on Highway 140 Near Mt Bullion
LAKESIDE, CA (February 5, 2022) – A crash seriously injured at least one person on Highway 140 near Mt Bullion Cut Off Road in Mariposa County.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Saturday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 7:08 p.m.
The incident happened when an SUV and a Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System bus collided head-on for an unknown reason in Mariposa County.
The two crashed on Highway 140, just west of Mt Bullion Cut Off Road. CHP did not mention if the YARTS bus was occupied at the time.
2 Cars Collide
Officials described the car as a black Nissan Xterra which rolled over upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the area of Catheys Valley.
Medical personnel found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Highway 140 to shut down near Mt Bullion following the wreck.
The cause of the Mariposa County crash is still under investigation.
