Marjorie Goosey, 78, Injured in Plumas County Crash on Highway 70
PLUMAS COUNTY, CA (September 7, 2021) – Marjorie Goosey was hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 70 in Plumas County.
The Plumas News identified the 78-year-old Greenville woman as the victim of the collision which took place on Sunday afternoon.
The incident began when Marjorie Goosey was driving a 2019 Dodge westbound on Highway 70 in Plumas County. At the same time, a 2008 Subaru was going west.
Marjorie Goosey stopped in the westbound lane, yielded to eastbound traffic as she waited to make a left turn into the Evergreen Trailer Park.
Officers said the driver of the Subaru, 21-year-old Colton Peters, failed to notice the stopped traffic. He stepped on the brake and turned to the left to avoid collision.
3 Cars Collide Near Chandler Road
In the process, the Crescent Mills man struck the right rear of the Dodge. He lost control of his car and went into the eastbound lane where he collided with a Ford.
The vehicles crashed, west of Chandler Road, on September 6 at about 4:45 p.m. The Subaru came to a stop after slammed into the Evergreen Trailer Park mailboxes.
Marjorie Goosey and Colton Peters sustained minor injuries as a result of the Highway 70 crash. Paramedics soon took Marjorie Goosey to the Plumas District Hospital for treatment.
The motorist in the Ford, 28-year-old Grass Valley resident Brett T. Bouchard, ended up unharmed. Meanwhile, officers forced Highway 70 to shut down in both directions following the wreck.
The cause of the Plumas County crash is still under investigation.
