Motorcycle Rider Killed in Crash at Garnet Ave and Morrell Street
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Nov. 30, 2022) — Mark James O’Leary, 65, of San Diego, died in a motorcycle crash on Garnet Avenue at Morrell Street in San Diego.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 12:01 p.m. on Nov. 18th, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The San Diego man was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Garnet Avenue approaching the intersection with Morrell Street. Meanwhile, a pickup truck was stopped at the intersection on Morrell Street. The pickup entered the intersection and into the path of the motorcyclist. The rider reportedly crashed into the driver’s side of the pickup truck.
Paramedics responded and rushed Mark O’Leary to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. He later died at the hospital at 12:35 p.m. the same day.
Meanwhile, investigators with the San Diego Police Department are working to determine liability for the fatal crash.
