(UPDATED)Caltrans Truck Involved in Fresno County Crash
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (August 8, 2022) — Marquis Pratcher, 25, of Merced, and a Caltrans engineer, Ali Shabazz, 48, of Fresno, both died in a Mendota crash Sunday night at the intersection of California and San Diego Avenue.
The motorists were identified by Tony Botti, spokesperson for the Fresno County Sheriff – Coroner’s Office.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around midnight at the Mendota-area intersection, according to ABC 30 News.
Marquis Pratcher was traveling as a driver or passenger in a Nissan heading northbound on San Diego Avenue, the report said. The vehicle allegedly failed to stop at the intersection. The vehicle collided with a westbound 2008 Chevrolet driven by Ali Shabazz that reportedly had the right-of-way, ABC News said.
Additionally, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Fresno County crash.
