Martha Barajas, 66, Killed in Turlock Pedestrian Crash Near 9th Street and Lander Avenue
TURLOCK, CA (November 18, 2021) – Martha Barajas was killed after a pedestrian crash near 9th Street and Lander Avenue in Turlock.
Police identified the 66-year-old Turlock woman as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Wednesday.
The incident happened when Martha Barajas was walking eastbound across Lander Avenue near the intersection with 9th Street in Turlock.
At the same time, a gray GMC pickup truck was going north in the left lane of Lander. Police said the car then struck the victim in the crosswalk.

Martha Barajas sustained major injuries as a result of the pedestrian crash. Paramedics arrived and soon rushed her to the hospital, where she died.
The Turlock Area News and The Modesto Bee wrote that the accident occurred on November 17 at around 5 p.m. Meanwhile, the GMC obtained minor damage due to the impact of the collision.
Police believed that the 43-year-old man driving the pickup failed to see the victim in the road and hit her in the process. He stayed at the site and cooperated with the officers.
