
Marvin Buchmiller, 83, Killed in El Dorado County Crash on Highway 50
EL DORADO COUNTY, CA (March 3, 2023) – Marvin Buchmiller was killed after a crash on Highway 50 in El Dorado County.
The California Highway Patrol said identified the 83-year-old South Lake Tahoe man as the victim of the fatal wreck which occurred on Thursday.
The incident happened when Marvin H. Buchmiller was driving a Kia Sportage on Highway 50 in El Dorado County. At the same time, a Ford Expedition was traveling in the other direction.
For an unknown reason, the Ford crossed into opposing lanes. CHP said in the process, the car slammed into the Kia near Ice House Road.
2 Injured in Wreck
The KCRA News wrote that the collision took place on March 2 at around 3:20 p.m. Officers confirmed that Marvin Buchmiller died as a result of the crash.
The passenger in the Sportage, a 52-year-old man, survived the accident with major injuries. Paramedics arrived and rushed him to a hospital for treatment.
Medical personnel treated the 52-year-old driver of the Ford for the minor injuries they sustained in the wreck. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the Highway 50 to shut down in both directions for hours following the incident. The cause of the El Dorado County crash is still under investigation.
