Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Minivan on Jefferson Avenue
MURRIETA, Calif. (Oct. 21, 2022) — Mason Penticoff, 23, of Murrieta, died in a motorcycle accident Thursday morning on Jefferson Avenue in Murrieta.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at 6:10 a.m. on Oct. 21st, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau.
The motorcyclist was riding his bike in the No. 1 lane traveling south on Jefferson Avenue. Meanwhile, a driver in a minivan pulled out of a driveway in front of him as they tried to turn left onto northbound Jefferson Avenue. The minivan came from the west side of the road, just south of Guava Street, according to a Murrieta Police Department press release.
Unfortunately, Mason Penticoff was unable to avoid crashing into the driver’s side of the minivan. The impact was so hard that he died at the scene just nine minutes later.
Also, the driver from the minivan driver suffered undisclosed injuries and paramedics took the person to a local hospital, Murrieta police said.
Investigators with the Murrieta Police Department are heading up the investigation into liability for the collision.
