Matthew Peter Keenan, 42, Fatal Victim in Collision Near Texas Street
Mission Valley, CA (September 19, 2021) – Matthew Peter Keenan, a 42-year-old man, died following a bicycle accident that occurred on Camino del Rio South.
On September 14, Tuesday, Matthew Keenan was riding a bicycle traveling in a bike lane on Camino del Rio South. In the area just west of Texas Street, a Nissan Sentra struck the San Diego man.
Preliminary investigation revealed the Nissan crossed over the double-yellow lines. The car moved from eastbound to westbound lanes, and hit the bicyclist in the process.
The horrible crash took place shortly after 8:50 p.m.
Deadly Bicycle Accident in Mission Valley, September 14
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the 42-year-old San Diego man sadly died as a result of the collision. The San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Matthew Keenan sadly died before he could be taken to a hospital.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the 25-year-old woman driving the Nissan appeared unharmed after the crash.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
