2 Critical After Traffic Collision at E Santa Fe and Fifth Avenue Friday
Merced, CA (June 19, 2021) – Two people suffered injuries following a car accident in the area of E Santa Fe and Fifth Avenue Friday evening, according to Your Central Valley News.
Officials said a vehicle of unknown make and model veered off the roadway for an unknown reason. The car eventually slammed into a tree at the Merced intersection.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the crash site. Firefighters reportedly extricated both the driver and passenger partially from the wreckage. After rescue personnel successfully freed the two parties, a helicopter airlifted them to a local trauma center for treatment.
The names of the patients and their conditions at this time remained undisclosed.
Investigators continue to gather information to determine the precise cause of the car accident at Santa Fe and Fifth Avenue in Merced. Detectives are looking whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
