Man, Dog Fatally Struck by Vehicle at Yosemite Parkway and Almond Avenue Friday
Merced, CA (November 26, 2021) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Yosemite Parkway and Almond Avenue.
The Merced Sun-Star News reported a vehicle struck a 44-year-old man and his dog at the Merced intersection. Per article published online, the pedestrian was crossing Yosemite Parkway when the collision happened. For an unknown, the driver of an oncoming Ford Focus failed to notice and hit the man.
Officials said the horrible crash took place at about 5:42 p.m.

When emergency teams arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to the victim. Sadly, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Authorities mentioned the 20-year woman driving the Focus stopped after the incident, and cooperated with the investigation process. Detectives handling the case continue to work to determine liability in the deadly pedestrian accident at Yosemite Parkway and Almond Avenue.
