Motorcyclist, 25, Injured in Collision on Highway 99 Tuesday
Merced, CA (May 18, 2021) – A 25-year-old man suffered injuries following a traffic accident on Highway 99 in Merced County Tuesday evening.
According to the Merced Sun-Star, a Livingston man was riding a 2018 Kawasaki heading south on Highway 99. Primary reports indicated the motorcyclist was traveling at an estimated speed of 70 to 80 mph.
Investigators believed the rider did not notice the slowing traffic ahead of him. As a result, the motorcyclist collided with a 2018 Lexus Coupe on Highway 99. The incident took place just north of Westside Boulevard in Winton.

Shortly after 8 p.m., a helicopter landed near the crash site. Medical personnel reportedly airlifted the injured rider to Memorial Hospital in Modesto for treatment of major injuries.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the driver of the Lexus appeared unharmed after the wreck.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the motorcycle accident in Merced.
