Motorcycle Rider Seriously Injured in Tesla Crash on Miramar Way
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 30, 2023) – A motorcycle rider was seriously injured after a crash with a Tesla on Miramar Way in a San Diego neighborhood.
According to an article published by the FOX 5 News, the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on March 29 at around 3:40 p.m.
The incident happened when a Tesla Model 3 was going west in the left lane of 9600 Miramar Way. The car then began to slow for a vehicle stopped in the lane waiting to make a turn.
A 23-year-old man was riding a Yamaha and traveling behind the Tesla at the same time. Police said the motorcyclist failed to slow and, in the process, collided with the rear of the Tesla.
Motorcyclist and Tesla Collide in Miramar
The rider ended up ejected from his bike due to the impact of the collision. He sustained major but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of multiple fractures. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police added that the 23-year-old woman driving the Tesla did not sustain any injury. Officers forced a stretch of Miramar Way to shut down following the motorcycle wreck.
