Rider Badly Hurt in Collision Near Ingraham Street
Mission Beach, CA (May 27, 2023) – A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on West Mission Bay Drive Saturday afternoon, the ABC10 News and San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
Auto vs. Motorcycle Accident on West Mission Drive in Mission Beach
Officials said a man riding a motorbike collided with another vehicle near the 1000 block of West Mission Bay Drive. According to the article published online, the crash took place between Mission Boulevard and Ingraham Street.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 54-year-old man was behind the wheel of a 2011 Toyota Camry heading west on West Mission Bay Drive. On the other hand, a 32-year-old man was riding his 2008 Triumph motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction. Our sources indicated the collision happened when the Camry made a U-turn, and drove directly in front of the oncoming motorcycle. The rider slammed into the back of the Camry.
Shortly after 4:15 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics immediately rendered aid to the motorcyclist found suffering in serious injuries. An ambulance rushed the victim to a local hospital for treatment of fractured arms and other physical trauma. Personal information on the patient remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
The driver of the Camry appeared unharmed after the collision.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the traffic accident that happened on West Mission Bay Drive in Mission Beach.
