1 Injured in Mission Hills Hit-and-Run Crash on 118 Freeway at Sepulveda
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 3, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured at least one person on the 118 Freeway at Sepulveda Boulevard in Mission Hills.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the accident on Friday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck shortly after 3 :30 p.m.
The incident began when a driver was swerving on the eastbound 118 Freeway in the Mission Hills neighborhood. The motorist then collided with two other vehicles at the Sepulveda Boulevard off-ramp.
CHP said the cars hit by the suspect, a maroon Honda Civic and a white Dodge Challenger, came to a rest on the right hand shoulder.
Swerving Driver Hits Cars, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found an occupant of the Honda hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the wreck. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver who caused the collision did not stop to help and fled the area. They described the car as a white older model of a 4-door SUV.
Officers forced the eastbound lanes of the 118 Freeway to shut down following the incident. The Mission Hills hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
