Skateboard Rider Severely Injured in Mission Valley Crash on Hotel Circle North
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 10, 2021) – A skateboard rider was severely injured after an accident on Hotel Circle North in Mission Valley.
According to the NBC San Diego and FOX 5 News, the collision occurred on Sunday night. Officers reported the crash on May 9 shortly after 8:15 p.m.
The incident happened when a 33-year-old man was riding a skateboard westbound on Hotel Circle in the Mission Valley neighborhood of San Diego.
At the same time, a 2015 Dodge Dart was traveling the same direction. For an unknown reason, the 19-year-old man driving the Dodge failed to see the victim in the roadway.
Skateboarder, 33, Hit by Car Near Fashion Valley
Police said in the process, the Dark struck the skateboarder near Fashion Valley Road. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.
Medical personnel found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. They rushed him to a hospital for treatment of a fracture to the right leg and major trauma.
Officials did not release the the name of the victim and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, police did not mention if the motorist involved immediately stopped after hitting the rider.
