Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Mission Viejo Crash on Northbound 5 Freeway
MISSION VIEJO, CA (May 18, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Mission Viejo.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:10 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle and the motorcyclist collided for an unknown reason in Mission Viejo. The two crashed on the northbound 5 Freeway, just south of Alicia Parkway.

Firefighters along with the soon paramedics responded to the scene. They found the rider and the motorcycle down in the carpool lane as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the motorcyclist to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the other driver sustained any wound or if they stopped after the incident. Officers forced the northbound I-5 Freeway to close following the wreck.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the Mission Viejo crash.
