Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Modesto Crash on Claribel Road
MODESTO, CA (May 9, 2021) – A bicycle accident left a rider seriously injured on Claribel Road in Modesto.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the collision on Sunday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the crash at about 5:15 p.m.
The incident began when for an unknown reason a tire of a white pickup truck blew. The vehicle spun out of control and then struck the bicyclist.
Bicyclist Hit by Car Near Highway 108
CHP said the bicycle rider was hit at 630 Claribel Road between Highway 108 and Coffee Road. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.
Medical personnel found the cyclist suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. They rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped or if they sustained any wound following the wreck.
Officers forced the Claribel Road to shut down after the bicycle collision. Authorities are still investigating the Modesto crash.
