8 Injured in Modesto Crash on Highway 99 at Briggsmore Avenue Overpass
MODESTO, CA (April 3, 2022) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash on the Briggsmore Avenue overpass of Highway 99 in Modesto.
According to an article published by The Modesto Bee, the accident took place late Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on April 2 at about 5:20 p.m.
The Modesto Fire Department said seven vehicles collided for an unknown reason. They crashed on the Briggsmore Avenue overpass at Highway 99.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and extricated one trapped occupant from the wreckage. A total of eight people ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took all patients to area hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced the Briggsmore Avenue overpass at Highway 99 to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the Modesto crash is still under investigation.
