Pedestrian Critically Injured in Modesto Crash Near La Loma and Yosemite
MODESTO, CA (April 4, 2022) – A pedestrian was critically injured after a crash near La Loma Avenue and Yosemite Boulevard in Modesto.
According to an article published by The Modesto Bee, the accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at around 4:09 p.m.
Modesto police said the incident happened when a female pedestrian was crossing the road, just east of downtown. For an unknown reason, a brown sedan hit her.
Victim Hit by Car
The car struck her near the intersection of La Loma Avenue and Yosemite Boulevard. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the incident. They then took her to an area hospital for treatment.
The report did not release the name of the wounded party and her condition at this time. Meanwhile, police added that the driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim.
Officers forced Yosemite Boulevard to shut down between La Loma and Santa Cruz Avenue for several hours following the collision. The cause of the Modesto pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
