Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Modesto Hit-and-Run Crash at Sutter and Elsie
MODESTO, CA (February 5, 2022) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash at Sutter Avenue and Elsie Street in Modesto.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Saturday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision at about 8:34 p.m.
The incident happened a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Sutter Avenue and Elsie Street in Modesto.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the James Marshall Elementary School. They found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Sutter and Elsie to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Modesto hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
