Boy, 17, Killed in Moreno Valley Crash Near Day Street and Bay Avenue
MORENO VALLEY, CA (May 26, 2021) – A car crash near Day Street and Bay Avenue killed a teenage boy in Moreno Valley.
According to an article published by The Daily Bulletin, the tragic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck about 3:09 p.m.
The incident happened when a Toyota Corolla was traveling at a high rate of speed east on Bay Avenue, approaching Day Street in Moreno Valley.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the Toyota then entered the intersection and failed to stop for a posted stop sign. The Corolla struck the driver’s side of a Ford Edge.
Speeding Driver Runs Stop Sign, Hits Another Car
The Ford ultimately slammed into a residential fence nearby. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the 17-year-old boy driving the Edge suffering from major injuries.
They soon pronounced him dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medical personnel took the speeding motorist to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Officials forced the area of Day Street and Bay Avenue to close following the wreck.
The fatal Moreno Valley crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s department at 951-486-8206.
