3 Killed in Mountain Pass Crash on 15 Freeway Near Yates Well
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA (May 19, 2023) – A crash killed several people on the 15 Freeway near Yates Well Road in Mountain Pass.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the tragic accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on May 19 at about 4:18 p.m.
The incident happened when a 2015 Toyota Camry and another sedan collided for an unknown reason in the Mountain Pass area of San Bernardino County.
2 Cars Collide
The cars crashed on the northbound side of the Interstate 15 Freeway, south of Yates Well Road. The collision occurred near the California Agricultural Inspection Station.
One vehicle rolled onto its side on the right-hand shoulder while the other car ended up in the middle of the road upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that three individuals died as a result of the collision.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway to shut down for hours near Yates following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Mountain Pass crash is still under investigation.
