2 Injured in Mountain View Crash at 45th Street and Ocean View Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 9, 2021) – A DUI crash at 45th Street and Ocean View Boulevard injured two people in the Mountain View neighborhood.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune and ABC 10 News, the accident occurred on Saturday evening. Officers reported the wreck on May 8 at around 6:15 p.m.
The incident happened when a 2003 red Ford Ranger was going south on 45th Street at Ocean View Boulevard in Mountain View.
Police said a 2012 black Ford Fusion then ran a stop sign at the intersection and slammed into the pickup truck. The Fusion spun out of control and hit a parked car.
DUI Factor in San Diego Car Collision
The impact forced the parked car into a third vehicle. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the 49-year-old driver of the Ranger hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon took the victim to a hospital for treatment of a fractured right leg. They also treated the 35-year-old man driving the Fusion who sustained a cut to his head.
The names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time were not released. Meanwhile, police believed that alcohol played a role in the Mountain View crash.
Officials forced the intersection to shut down following the collision. Authorities are still investigating the DUI accident.
