Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash on Highway 1 Near Muir Beach Overlook
MUIR BEACH, CA (September 24, 2022) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 1 in Muir Beach.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the accident on Saturday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 12:19 p.m.
The incident happened when the motorcycle rider and a black car collided for an unknown reason on Highway 1. The two crashed near Muir Beach Overlook.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found the motorcyclist down on the ground. The victim sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to the Marin General Hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt or if they stopped following the incident. Officers forced both lanes of Highway 1 to shut down after the wreck.
The cause of the Muir Beach crash is still under investigation.
