2 Injured in Napa County Crash on Highway 29 Near Oakville
NAPA COUNTY, CA (January 4, 2022) – Two were injured after a DUI crash on Highway 29 near Oakville in Napa County.
According to an article published by The Napa Valley Register, the accident took place on Sunday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:30 p.m.
The incident happened on January 2 when a car was going south on Highway 29 near Oakville. At the same time, another vehicle was traveling north.
The California Highway Patrol said the southbound car then made an unsafe turn into the northbound lane, into oncoming traffic. In the process, the two vehicles collided.
Drunk Driver Hits Another Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. They found two occupants of the northbound car who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel provided aid to the patients at the site for the minor injuries they sustained in the wreck. The report did not disclose their names and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the man driving south was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the victims. They soon arrested him for DUI.
Officers forced a stretch of Highway 29 to shut down near Oakville following the crash. The Napa County DUI collision is still under investigation.
