2 Injured in Newhall Crash at Wiley Canyon Road and Lyons Avenue
SANTA CLARITA, CA (July 31, 2022) – Two were hospitalized after a crash at Wiley Canyon Road and Lyons Avenue in Newhall.
According to an article published by The Signal, the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Offices reported the wreck at about 3:30 p.m.
The incident happened on July 30 when five cars collided for an unknown reason in the Newhall community. The vehicles crashed at the intersection of Wiley Canyon Road and Lyons Avenue.
Officials described the cars as a silver 4-door sedan, a red Hyundai SUV, a blue 4-door sedan, a gold Toyota pickup truck, and a silver 2-door Mitsubishi.
Multiple Cars Collide
A woman became trapped inside the silver sedan as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and freed her from the wreckage.
Crews pulled another woman clutching her left arm and wearing a neck brace from her SUV. Medical personnel rushed both patients to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
The report did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. The silver car and the SUV obtained severe damage upon impact.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Wiley Canyon and Lyons to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Newhall crash is still under investigation.
