Car Strikes, Kills Woman Near Tefft Street
Nipomo, CA (September 10, 2022) – A woman died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Highway 101 Saturday evening.
According to KSBY News, the female party attempted to cross the northbound lanes of the highway. While walking in the traffic lanes, an oncoming Toyota Prius spotted the woman. The 21-year-old driver of a Toyota attempted to swerve to the left to avoid hitting the pedestrian. For reason still unclear, the woman ran towards the west side of the median and was struck by the right front-end of the Toyota.
The catastrophic incident took place shortly before 7 p.m.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 in Nipomo
When emergency crews arrived at the site, they found the pedestrian lying on the ground and unconscious. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but she sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole evening. They continue to investigate liability in the deadly pedestrian accident that happened on Highway 101 in Nipomo.
