1 Killed, 4 Injured in North Hollywood Crash on Magnolia Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 26, 2023) – A crash killed one person and injured several others on Magnolia Boulevard in North Hollywood.
According to the KTLA News and CBS Los Angeles, the tragic accident took place on Sunday evening. Officers reported the wreck on February 26 shortly after 7 p.m.
The incident happened when a gray sedan going north on the 170 Freeway exited at Magnolia Boulevard in the North Hollywood neighborhood. At the same time, a dark colored Honda CRV was traveling east on Magnolia.
For an unknown reason, the sedan ran a red light. In the process, the gray car slammed into the Honda at 11482 West Magnolia Boulevard.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Another Car
Los Angeles police said the Honda rolled over due to the impact of the collision. The three people riding the CRV, a man, a woman and an infant, ended up trapped inside as a result of the accident.
Firefighters soon arrived at the scene and freed the victims from the wreckage. LAFD confirmed that the male passenger died following the incident.
Paramedics rushed the other two occupants to a hospital, where they listed the woman in critical condition and the child in stable condition.
Medical personnel also transported the female driver of the sedan for treatment of unspecified injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, police forced a stretch of the Magnolia Boulevard to shut down for a time after the collision. The cause of the fatal North Hollywood crash is still under investigation.
