Pedestrian, 76, Killed in Crash on Center Road Near Novato Boulevard
NOVATO, CA (September 4, 2021) – An elderly pedestrian was killed after a crash on Center Road in the city of Novato.
According to an article published by the CBS San Francisco, the tragic accident took place on Friday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 6:10 p.m.
The incident happened on September 3 when a female pedestrian was walking across Center Road near South Novato Boulevard. At the same time, a vehicle was going west.
Elderly Woman Hit by Vehicle
Police said for an unknown reason, the driver hit the 76-year-old woman. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found her lying on the ground.
The victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel soon rushed her to a trauma facility, where she died.
The name of the deceased woman remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim.
Officers forced a stretch of Center Road to shut down for about two hours following the accident. The cause of the fatal Novato pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
