1 Seriously Injured in Oak View Car Crash on Northbound Highway 33
VENTURA COUNTY, CA (June 14, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on Highway 33 in Oak View.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:10 p.m.
The incident began when the driver of a white Dodge Charger passing in center divider lost control of the car for an unknown reason.
Head-On Collision Near Portal Street and Creek Lane
CHP said the Dodge then collided head-on with three vehicles on northbound Highway 33 in the Oak View community. They crashed between Portal Street and Creek Lane.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near Casitas Springs. They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of Highway 33 to shut down for more than an hour following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Oak View crash.
