1 Killed, 1 Injured in Oakland Crash Near International and Seminary
OAKLAND, CA (August 22, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and injured another near International Boulevard and Seminary Avenue in East Oakland.
The KTVU News and KRON 4 News wrote that the tragic accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:15 a.m.
The incident began when a Toyota Prius was going east on International Boulevard, approaching Seminary Avenue, in Oakland. At the same time, an Infiniti FX35 was traveling south on Seminary.
Police said for an unknown reason, the two cars collided near the intersection. The Toyota then plowed into a building nearby.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the 33-year-old Oakland man driving the Prius dead at the scene. The driver of the Infiniti ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon took the motorist, a 20-year-old Oakland woman, to a hospital and listed her in stable condition. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, police forced the area of International Boulevard and Seminary Avenue to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Oakland crash is still under investigation.
