Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Oceanside Crash on Interstate 5 Near Harbor Drive
OCEANSIDE, CA (January 2, 2022) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 5 near Harbor Drive in Oceanside.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the wreck took place on Sunday evening. Officers reported the accident at about 7:04 p.m.
CHP said a small white sedan and the motorcycle rider collided for an unknown reason in Oceanside.. The two crashed on the southbound Interstate 5 near Harbor Drive.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at scene. They found the motorcyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt or if they stayed following the wreck. The cause of the Oceanside crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down near Harbor after the incident.
