CHP Deputy Hospitalized After Collision Near Yosemite National Park
Fish Camp, CA (January 29, 2023) – A California Highway Patrol officer suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route Highway 41.
The Merced Sun-Star News reported the officer was standing outside one vehicle stuck on the roadway. While the deputy was talking to the driver, a tow truck pulled up. Our sources indicated the truck began to slide due to the icy road conditions.
Major Injury Car Crash on Highway 41 in Fish Camp
The truck ended up hitting the officer, causing him to be pinned between the two vehicles. Responding firefighters immediately worked to free the officer. After the successful extrication process, paramedics transported the victim to Chuckchansi casino near Coarsegold and then airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate liability in the traffic accident that happened on Highway 41 in Fish Camp.
