Concert Goer Killed, 2 Injured in Falls from Stadium at Phish Concert
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Oct. 19, 2021) — Ryan Prosser, 47, of Athens, NY, and two other men were injured during a Phish concert Sunday at Chase Center in San Francisco.
The first incident took place just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17th, according to San Francisco police officers and KTVU News 2.
An adult male reportedly fell or jumped from the upper level of the stadium. Paramedics responded, but sadly the man later identified as Prosser died from his injuries at the scene. Police do not suspect any foul play was a factor.
A short time later at 9:45 p.m., police officers responded to a second incident where an adult male fell or jumped from the upper floors and fell on another man below. Both men suffered injuries in the Chase Center incident and were transported from the Phish concert to the hospital.
It’s unknown what led up to the second incident, but both falls are under investigation.
The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the death of the first man and his name was released the next day.
Investigators seek to determine what happened and if any charges will be filed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured and the family of the man who died.
