Osvaldo Garcia, 23, ID’d as Suspect in Palmdale Fatal DUI Crash on 14 Freeway
PALMDALE, CA (April 11, 2022) – Authorities detained Osvaldo Garcia after a DUI crash on the 14 Freeway in Palmdale.
The California Highway Patrol believed that 23-year-old Palmdale man was was under the influence when the wreck took place on Saturday.
The incident began when Osvaldo Garcia was driving a 2006 Ford F150 south on the 14 Freeway in Palmdale. At the same time, a 1996 Buick sedan became involved in an accident with a Honda sedan in the area.
Pauline Gonzalez, 28, Hit and Killed by Car
The driver of the Buick, 28-year-old Pauline Gonzalez, got out of her disabled car and walked within the No. 4 lane. Osvaldo Garcia approached and then hit the Canyon Country woman and her sedan.
Pauline Gonzalez died as a result of the collision. The Antelope Valley Times wrote that the wreck occurred on April 9 at around 2:13 a.m.
Meanwhile, CHP soon arrested Osvaldo Garcia following the crash. Officers forced the southbound lanes of State Route 14 to shut down for hours following the incident.
