Bystander Killed in Collision Near La Media Road Sunday
Otay Mesa, CA (October 31, 2021) – One person died following a car and pedestrian accident that occurred on Kerns Street early Sunday, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
Our sources indicated two drivers appeared to be racing in the streets of Otay Mesa. The article published online mentioned one of the vehicles, a 1993 Ford Mustang, veered into the eastbound side of Kerns Street.
Officials said the Mustang jumped a curb and struck a spectator in the area near La Media Road. The collision took place at about 6 a.m.

Shortly after 6 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. First responders rendered aid to the victim. Sadly, the bystander succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene. Authorities continue to withhold the name of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event have not been discussed thus far. At this time, detectives continue to investigate liability in the deadly car and pedestrian accident on Kerns Street.
