1 Killed, 2 Injured in Oxnard Crash at Rose Avenue and Gonzales Road
OXNARD, CA (July 13, 2021) – A car crash killed a teen and injured two people at Rose Avenue and Gonzales Road in Oxnard.
The Ventura County Star and KTLA News wrote that the tragic accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:03 p.m.
The incident began when a 2012 white Dodge Ram 2500 was going south on North Rose Avenue, approaching East Gonzales Road. At the same time, a 1999 silver Honda Civic was traveling north.
Oxnard police said the Honda then tried make a left turn onto Gonzales Road. In the process, the two cars collided in the intersection.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the 46-year-old woman driving the Civic and her two passengers hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon rushed them to hospitals for treatment. One passenger, a 13-year-old, died at the Ventura County Medical Center.
The other two patients sustained non-life-threatening injuries upon impact. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, the two occupants of the truck ended up unharmed following the wreck. Officials forced the area of Rose Avenue and Gonzales Road to shut down in all directions for several hours after the crash.
