Pedestrian Killed in Crash Near Oxnard Boulevard and Citrus Grove Lane
OXNARD, CA (May 12, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian near Oxnard Boulevard and Citrus Grove Lane in Oxnard.
According to The Ventura County Star and KVTA News, the tragic accident took place late Thursday night. Officers reported the collision on May 11 at about 10:37 p.m.
The incident happened when a 2003 Ford Expedition was traveling south on Oxnard Boulevard, approaching Citrus Grove Lane. For an unknown reason, the car struck a female pedestrian.
Woman, 65, Hit by Car
The Ford hit the 65-year-old woman walking north of the intersection. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found her down on the ground.
The patient sustained severe injuries as a result of the accident. Medical personnel rushed the victim to the Ventura County Medical Center, where she soon died.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police added that the driver of the Expedition stopped and stayed at the site following the incident.
Officers forced the area of Oxnard and Citrus Grove to shut down for a time after the collision. The cause of the fatal pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
