1 Seriously Injured in Palo Cedro Crash at Old 44 Drive and Silver Bridge Road
SHASTA COUNTY, CA (February 13, 2022) – A car crash seriously injured at least one person at Old 44 Drive and Silver Bridge Road in Palo Cedro.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Sunday morning. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck shortly after 10 a.m.
CHP said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the Palo Cedro area of Shasta County. They crashed at the intersection of Old 44 Drive and Silver Bridge Road.
2 Cars Collide
The incident log described the cars as a red Chevrolet Spark and a Chevrolet Silverado. The Spark obtained major front-end damage while the Silverado rolled over and then ended up on its roof.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated a trapped occupant inside the sedan from the wreckage. The rescued party sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The name of the wounded party and their condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP forced westbound Old 44 Drive to shut down west of Silver Bridge following the wreck. The cause of the Palo Cedro crash is still under investigation.
