1 Killed, 1 Critically Injured in Crash at Palos Verdes Drive West and Via Zumaya
PALOS VERDES, CA (May 10, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and critically injured another at Palos Verdes Drive West and Via Zumaya.
According to the Patch and My News LA, the tragic accident occurred on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:45 p.m.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said at least two vehicles collided for an unknown reason. They crashed at the intersection of Palos Verdes Drive West and Via Zumaya.
Child Victim in Palos Verdes Fatal Car Collision
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and then extricated a trapped occupant from the wreckage. They later pronounced one individual dead at the scene.
Medical personnel rushed a child to a hospital and listed them in critical condition. They also evaluated another adult at the site but they refused transport.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officials forced northbound lanes of the roadway to close following the Palos Verdes crash.
The cause of the fatal collision is still under investigation.
