2 Injured in Petaluma Pedestrian Crash on Sonoma Mountain Parkway
PETALUMA, CA (June 7, 2021) – Two were injured after a pedestrian accident on Sonoma Mountain Parkway in Petaluma.
According to an article published by The Press Democrat, the collision took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the crash at about 11:40 a.m.
The incident happened when two females pedestrians were in a crosswalk on Sonoma Mountain Parkway near Ely Road. At the same time, a vehicle was going south.
Petaluma police said for an unknown reason, the male driver made a turn east onto Sonoma Mountain. He failed to yield to the pedestrians and then struck them.
Victims Hit by Vehicle in Crosswalk
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene. They soon found both victims who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel treated one patient at the site for the minor wounds she sustained in the crash. They also took the second party to the Petaluma Valley Hospital with moderate injuries.
Officials did not release their names and condition at this time. Meanwhile, police forced a portion of Sonoma Mountain Parkway to shut down following the collision.
Officers are still investigating the Petaluma pedestrian accident.
