1 Injured in Phelan Hit-and-Run Crash Near Highway 138 and Cook Lane
PHELAN, CA (April 15, 2021) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash near Highway 138 and Cook Lane in Phelan.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on April 14 at about 4:08 p.m.
According to their dispatch, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason. They crashed near the intersection of Highway 138 and Cook Lane in Phelan.
CHP described the cars involved as a black older model Toyota pickup truck and a silver colored SUV. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.
Driver Hits Another Car, Flees on Foot
They found one victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained upon impact.
Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that a driver involved abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.
Officers described the motorist as a Hispanic man last seen wearing a gray shirt and a black jacket with a whine line on the back. They saw him walking through the yards nearby.
Officers forced the road to shut down following the Phelan crash. Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
