At Least 1 Hurt in Collision Near Pinole Valley Road Wednesday
Pinole, CA (January 15, 2022) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on Interstate 80, also known as Eastshore Freeway.
Officials said two vehicles collided on the westbound lanes of the highway near Pinole Valley Road onramp. Initial records described the cars involved in the wreck as a silver Hyundai hatchback, and a Jeep Cherokee.
CHP logged the incident on January 12, Wednesday, at about 3:14 p.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to all possible victims. Authorities later confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. Personal information on the victim have not been discussed thus far.
Investigators mentioned a third vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene. Detectives continue to work at this time to determine the identity and location of the hit-and-run suspect.
Further investigation is ongoing on the car crash on Interstate 80 in Pinole.
