1 Killed in Placer County Crash Near Sunset Boulevard West and Fiddyment Road
PLACER COUNTY, CA (February 6, 2022) – A crash killed at least one person near Sunset Boulevard West and Fiddyment Road in Placer County.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place early Sunday. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck shortly before 4 a.m.
The incident happened when two vehicles collided head-on for an unknown reason in Placer County. They crashed on westbound Sunset Boulevard West, just south of Fiddyment Road.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described the two cars as a gray Toyota Prius and a blue Volkswagen. Both obtained major front-end damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the areas of Roseville and Lincoln. They confirmed that one party died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP forced the corner of Sunset and Fiddyment to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Placer County crash is still under investigation.
