At Least 1 Killed in Collision Near Towne Avenue Tuesday
Pomona, CA (January 4, 2022) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 10, also known as San Bernardino Freeway, Tuesday evening.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a white SUV veered off the traffic lanes and slammed into the center divider of the freeway. Per CHP dispatch, the white SUV was seen driving at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.
Shortly after 7:50 p.m., emergency crews responded to the area near Towne Avenue in Pomona. Firefighters reportedly extricated at least one person trapped in the wreckage. Despite life-saving measures, the victim succumbed to their injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal car crash on Interstate 10 in Pomona.
