Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Pomona Crash on 57 Freeway Near Temple
POMONA, CA (October 26, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the 57 Freeway near Temple Avenue in Pomona.
The motorcycle rider and an SUV collided for an unknown reason in the city of Pomona. The two crashed on the southbound side of the 57 Freeway, just north of Temple Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, the accident happened on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:34 p.m.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Witnesses described the car involved as possibly a tan or gold colored Honda Odyssey or a Toyota Sienna. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They found the motorcyclist down in the No. 1 lane as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the vehicle ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of the 57 Freeway to shut down near Temple for an hour after the incident. The cause of the Pomona crash is still under investigation.
