At Least 1 Killed in Rear-End Collision at State Route 65 and Avenue 12 Sunday
Porterville, CA (December 26, 2021) – One person died following a traffic crash that occurred in the area of State Route 65 and Avenue 12.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a small sedan slammed into the back of a semi truck near the intersection in Porterville. Additional description on the vehicles involved in the catastrophic incident have not been revealed thus far.
Shortly after 7:40 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the big rig with a missing rear axle; and the sedan with major damage.
Medical personnel immediately rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sadly died as a result of the accident. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Several factors surrounding the horrible crash remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal crash on State Route 65 in Porterville.
